First Boards?

The first SiP board. I've posted on a couple of other boards run by StPers, but never with any regularity.

Er, it depends on what counts as a board. Remember the dark ages before they commercialized the Internet and you had to call in to specific bulletin boards? I was a moderator for a weekly discussion forum on a bulletin board called Voyager (which has since gone on to drop the bulletin board and become an ISP).

The newspaper at which I was working then started a bulletin board as an outreach effort and I participated in that. It was actually what made them late to get on board the Internet revolution. They said they didn't need an Internet prescence 'cause they had this bulletin board. That eventually changed, but I was long gone by then.

I don't remember my first Internet board. It was probably an Epinions-related place called "The Cantina," but it seems to me I was on a mommy board before htat. That might have been a pre-Internet GENIE thing, though.

Wow. I think SipList was the first actual online friend group I joined, then another email list for the comic Gen 13.

This was the first actual web based forum I joined, but didn't stay very long at first as some of you know. Now, I hang out more at the actual SiP forum. I am also a member of Krypstonsite (a Smallville fan forum) and Space (the Canadian science fiction channel group). I mostly post here and at SiP though and once a month or so on the others.
